Where yesterday the baromoter was dropping in advance of the rain event, today the barometer was steady and the fish were feeding. The water temp was 49 and the air was 44. Conditions were clear and quite a few fish were stacked up in deeper holds. The White Clay Creek in both Delaware and PA are holding up well, and the water is up just slightly. The fish aggressively hit a bead head woolly (black w/red flash) and a green czech nymph under a couple of split shot to get 'em down. I was in the lower section of the middle branch above the confluence today. My friend Clyde reported yesterday that the FFO section in Delaware delivered no fish over a morning of fishing. Another report later in the day indicated the Delaware fish must have had been hiding- no luck. The weather for the rest of the week is looking good so my guess is that holiday fishing will be fun - just remember that hunting season is open, so be safe.
