I fished with a buddy Ed this chilly morning. Air temp 32 degrees. Water temp 54 degrees at 7:20 am. Ice forming in the guides almost immediately. Was able to fool two browns and one smallmouth in the White Clay Creek, a Delaware river in the PA delayed harvest section below Good Hope Road Bridge. They we sluggish but they ate size 16 flashback olive nymphs. Saw at least a dozen fish near the big rock, but the slow water and gin clear conditions gave us away. Ed was working a natural hares ear under a float indicator but the floating leaf debris was detrimental to a drag free float as it interfered with the indicator a lot of the time. We also scared a few fish from their rocky lies on our way out at about the time the sun made an appearance on the water.
