A number of fishers were in White Clay Outfitters store on Sunday and indicated that there were no fish in the Delaware fly section. Now that part of the White Clay Creek, a Delaware River was stock this past Tuesday, so I gave it a try in the late afternoon. So the fish are there but they were hiding from flashy flies. They wanted a dead drifted natural looking nymph, which I provided. Took two nice 14" rainbows on a size 16 olive baetis nymph. I fished the section half way to PA, just above the riffles. Water temp had fallen to 56 degrees and there is leaf litter on a lot of the slower sections making casting to the pockets a must. I also saw a number of fish holding near the rocky sections. Get out there and give 'em a try.
