The White Clay Creek is running clear and cool 41 degrees this morning at 7:30 am. The fish are getting smarter and harder to fool as pressure mounts, but two fish fell to a size 18 hare's ear nymph today. The increased pressure from fishers has also added to the mono break offs in the trees and underwater structure. I retrieved an entire leader with tippet and fly attached from an underwater twig today. Remember to carry a trash bag with you to gather up some of the trash (soda, beer bottles & iced tea cans that have been left on the stream lately. If you bring in a fly rescued from the brush or bottom, Doug or I will reward you with a swapped out fly after we put the old fly on the "Board of Shame", in the shop.
