The White Clay Creek in both Delaware and PA was opened up a bit due to the rain and snow melt and somewhat modifying temps this morning.  Some areas have flowing water and are accessible from the snow covered trails.  I saw very few foot prints but I can report that mine have a tread pattern from the new sticky rubber Chota boots with studs that I am auditioning.  They seem to be a great replacement for felt soles at this point.  More info as the conditions change into the spring on this topic.  You will be hearing more and more about the new rubber soled shoes as Simms, Cloudveil and Chota are commiting themselves to them in order to avoid the spread of ditimo, zebra snail, and whirling disease bacteria contamination spreading from the transfer of these nasties from stream to stream by felt soled wading shoes.
